First was a waxed cylinder (the shape of outside of a can). Just ask Thomas Al Edison. Then came records. First older 76 speed plastic, then vinyl records and t ape, 8 track, cassette tape, CD,,

Somehow a sine wave gets turned in to DC in the sound card.I can think of a way of doing this. The 'pulses of DC' sine wave is then temporally stored in a memory location in the same sound card. The number of DC parts that the sine wave is broken up in to is a function of,or a switch in the sound card.I can think of a way to have the DC over time. The varying voltages problem could be solved if I could save varying voltages of DC in the memory.Every bit of sound is in a memory location with a time and a voltage value. The sine wave is broken up in to time voltage bits. The more time voltage bits the higher the fidelity,so I have to have a very high frequency--lots of bits. The sine wave is actually recorded in to the memory. The resolution or fidelity depends on how small the bits are. When I play the sine wave back I am playing the varying DC digital sound in time.To the sound card or CD player it does not make any difference how many bits per second that I playback at.It is just playing the wave. The sine wave that I hear with my ears is actually varying DC over time.
