Check with your doctor to rule out anything other than a simple strain of the vocal chords.
I agree that lots of water is good. Rest your voice when you can. Avoid straining your voice if possible.

I worked in a pub that had live music & comedians 2-3 times a week, whenever anyone had sore throats they'd have the hot water & lemon juice thing with them, and drink loads of fluids.

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Drink lots of water, try to take sips often.
DO NOT use throat sweets or mints as these dry the vocal chords.
If you have never had any take singing lessons- it will teach you how to protect your voice and not strain it.

I'm not saying you've got to love him, but I met Tom Jones once by accident whilst he was entertaining a pub crowd in Cardiff. He was feeling really ill but was still singing. I asked him his secret and he told me he swore by Volcalzone pastilles that you can buy from any pharmacy. They don't taste great great but they certainly work. Give them a try.

How lengthy have you ever had a temp. of 39.5 (103F) ? in case you may not deliver down your fever--I advise you ring your well being care provider and ask for advice. i does no longer advise a gargle--this does more desirable harm then sturdy , attempt some tea & honey with somewhat lemon. yet as i discussed--confer such as your well being care provider or make an apt. to work out him/her in case your fever does no longer pass down, you may want to need some antibiotics.

Drink lots of water and fluids. An average person should get 8 cups a day, but with a profession like yours, you should probably have more.

Is this just your opinion or have you an agent? My agent suggests honey and lemon. Break a leg.

Hot tea with lemon! The best! A touch of honey too, if you can!
