What did the rock band ‘Foreigner’ want Meatloaf to do?

He was once offered the job of lead vocalist in Foreigner, although I don't know when this happened. Personally, I can't imagine Foreigner without Lou Gramm as the lead vocalist, but they care currently touring with a different guy.
