Until you're ready. Anyone who suggests its too soon should go do something more useful like stick forks into electric sockets.

It's all about whether you're ready to move on or not. My mom passed away, and my dad began seeing someone about four months later. He needed someone to spend time with, and that person has become someone he's close to. Others need a lot more time, sometimes a year or two. It's important to make sure your emotional state is stable and that you have dealth with some of the intense emotions that come with losing someone. Either way, if you've lost a spouse, I'm sorry to hear that's happened. Best of luck with the days to come.

I am so sorry for your loss or the loss of someone you know. There is no right time. It all depends on how you feel. I you feel you are ready then go for it. There is no "have to". It is up to the person. BUT, if you are not over you spouse (in terms you will always compare contrast him/her with current lover) then it would be a grief thing. No one wants to feel inadequate.

No real rules on it just depends on each person and also the circumstances of the death ie sudden older age or due to illness

There is no set time on emotions or how you deal w/ them. You need to deal w/ the death but don't make it your whole life. You need to do what it takes to move on. Moving on doesn't mean you forget what you had!

A split second, legally speaking. Emotionally - take as long as you're comfortable with.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this. Date when you feel ready to date.. no matter what anyone else tells you

Well.... until death do you part. That can be five years, or five seconds. Depends on if that is what you want or not.
