Symbolic Meaning of Color in Roses
Color Meaning
red The creative spirit of love. True love stronger than thorns.
True red is the lover's rose.
Amaranth red: long standing desire
Cardinal red: sublime desire
Carmine: deceitful desire (not true to color)
Fieryred: flames of passion.
yellow In Victorian times the rose meant jealousy. Maybe our thoughts have changed. Today it is given as a sign of friendship, sometimes as a sign of sympathy. It is the rose of familiar love and domestic happiness. The yellow rose of Texas is the only rose for me.
white Loyalty, penetrating and platonic love. Able to captivate secret thought, love stronger than death. In England there is a saying about the white rose referring to the sub rosa, death to him who under my secrecy betrays his oath. In Scotland when the white rose bloomed in autumn it was seen as a token of early marriage. The rose of confession, the bridal rose, the rose of servitude. Can be otherworldly.
pink Grace, gentility, elegance and refinement. The rose of sweet thoughts.
purple Purple adds enchantment. Can be transcendental. Possible need to proceed cautiously. The priests wear lavender during lent, a time of discretion. Purple can indicate opulence or majesty.
orange A warm color that says, I am proud of you.
blue Fantasy and impossibility. Hoping for a miracle and new possibilities. Many people have a quest or a fascination for blue roses. I have a book by Ibn al Awam, which was written in the twelfth century, translated into French by J. J. Clement entitled Le livre de l'agriculture. the book speaks of azure blue roses that were known to the orient. These blue roses were attained by placing a blue die into the bark of the roots. This process is explained in the book and has been proven to work by Joret, a very knowledgeable french scientist.
black The color of the crone, the wise lady of death. The promise that soon you will know something you did not know before. Some see it as a bad omen. Death of fixed thoughts or ideas. Signifies a rejuvenation on the horizon. May not be understood as a gift. Les fleurs du mal from which beauty springs. Sometimes a beautiful deep red rose will bloom from a blackened bud.

The red rose is the most popular of all gifts and represents true love. Whether it’s a single red rose, a dozen or even more the underlying meaning is that of love. However, the red rose can also be used to represent respect, passion and courage. A deep red rose is slightly different and represents unconscious beauty or, put another way, it means someone is beautiful without knowing it.
White has long been a sign of innocence or purity and this holds true when considering roses. Sending a white rose means you believe someone to be heavenly and also represents feelings of respect as well as love. Pink roses are deemed as being a symbol of elegance and beauty. Light pink roses can be used to convey feelings of sympathy whereas dark pink could represent gratitude.
Peach roses do not show feelings of love, as such, more that a deal has been done. Green roses are among the younger of the roses and are a symbol of fertility. Even more recently, blue roses have come to mean mystery; more specifically giving someone a blue rose means you find them mysterious. Black roses can signify death, although not necessarily in the literal sense. A black rose means the beginning of a new era or age.
A hybrid tea rose shows that you will never forget the recipient whereas pale roses are given as a sign of friendship and the meaning of the aptly named sweetheart rose is immediately obvious.
However, the colour of the rose or roses you are giving aren’t the only thing you need to consider. The number of roses and even how mature the rose is also purvey certain feelings and emotions on the recipient so you should cram up on these before deciding what to send.
A single rose means simplicity and the most traditional appearance of this symbolism is the single red rose. This indicates that you completely love someone. Two roses entwined so there is only one stem shows commitment or that you are joined. Traditionally, two red roses entwined in this way are used as an engagement or wedding gift.
Giving a rose bud shows young love or innocence whereas a rose in full bloom shows fully blossomed love. Placing a fully bloomed rose with two buds would signify a secret love but sending withered white roses tells someone that beauty is not permanent.
Good luck in your choice.

Pink Rose carry the message of happiness, gracefulness and gentleness

Red (Dark) Rose reveals unconscious beauty
Red (Single) means "I Love You"
Red & White Roses together signify unity
Single Rose in any color expresses simplicity and gratitude
White Roses express Purity/heavenly, secrecy, silence, innocence and charm

Yellow Roses indicate joy, gladness, friendship and "I Care"

The description after the color indicates how you feel about the person to whom you are sending the rose. By the way, black does not always mean that you wish the recipient to be dead; it can also be a wish for your own death, perhaps if you just can't live with the way the situation stands.
I also read that the arrangement and number of roses may change their meaning.
