Why was bluetooth invented?

because people were fed up with wires and needed a way to pass files wirelessly and easyly(although sometimes its quite hard lol). i think its a good way to move files and other wirelessly

because wired technologies (such as USB connection) aren't cofortable and bother on the working table

IR(Infrared) is limited due to the fact that it should be visibility between sender and receiver (you may not put you DVD player into closed place because receiver should "see" the ray from remote control should

So bluetooth is more flexible then all previous technology and it becames industrial stundart for short range wireless connection
while WiFI for long range
