What bothers me is that the Bush Administration put all our resources into Iraq and ignored problems like Chavez and Iran and North Korea until we now have Communist and Socialist governments all over Latin America, have paid North Korea blackmail because we don't have the resources to deal with them any other way,and are on the verge of war with Iran.

Not really. Chavez is just trying to put himself on the political map. It's popular in the world right now to oppose President Bush. My guess is he is maneuvering himself into a position where he stands to gain the most political allies. By aligning himself with nations hostile to the United States, he likely believes he is demonstrating strength as a political leader. Whether he actually is demonstrating this strength is largely up to world opinion.

I believe much of the political rhetoric coming from nations other than the United States will change significantly (for better or worse) after the next U.S. presidential elections.

If it doesn't... it should.

Even more troubling is the number of people in this country that apologize for everything Iran, Cuba, Sudan and North Korea do and virtually worship Hugo Chavez as a hero.

He's become what Stalin was for leftists in the 1930s.

Not in the least. You have to understand how threatening under Bush we are looking to the world. Indeed I am afraid of all the taking away of liberties, the over 600 secret prisons in the country all staffed and ready to go. Who are they for? I can't help but think Cheney will unleash another disaster upon us purely to stay in power. The money he has made in Iraq is obscene. Much blood is on neocon hands. Any country that has anything that America wants is of course fearful...Mary.

it isn't the persons of Iran that are the problerm - that is their government. Iran is a minimum of as undesirable, if no longer worse, than Saudi Arabia in words of their help and encouragement of terrorists and the quantity of money they placed money into destabilizing concerns and helping radical Islamic fundamentalism. In the two international places the best judgment is that in the event that they save bobbing up exterior demons the persons would be too busy & distracted and could no longer seem on the demons working issues at homestead. Iran needs to heavily overhaul their government - oust and imprison the mullahs and that nutbag president of theirs. quit pursuing nukes. the persons of Iran, with a bit of luck, will improve bored with the equipment they're presently suffering decrease than and could initiate the technique themselves. besides the indisputable fact that this is a complicated element to do.

Wow with authors like Newt Gingrinch and (no lie people) NIMROD RAPHAELI (real fart smeller)... how could you be more biased.

Look Condie and all your stupid conservative criminals hate Venezuela because they hate democracy plain and simple. Chavez is spreading democracy, public welfare (actually using revenues from oil to benefit the people of Venezuela rather than the small corporate elite frat-boy ***** like Bush or Gore) and that pisses them off! It is upsetting to all the war-pigs because it hurts thier corporate masters in the pocket. They care nothing about you or your family or any-of-our families jaggass! WAKE UP!

Iran has not been a fraction of as hostile towards us as we have been toward her, get your facts right.

The US has made it clear that when it comes to geopolitics it will back the attackers of 9-11 before it allows oil dollars to be spent on the people of the US.

so go read now. learn. get educated. end the fear. get the facts.

viva la Bolivarian Revolution! Uh! Ah! Chavez No Se Va!

Chavez is "becoming" a friend of Iran. I thought he and Iran became friends quite awhile back.

I think most of us already knew that Hugo Chavez is a bad man. Luckily, he's a bad man who mainly has power only in Venezuela. I will not bow to fear-mongering.
