Wow, what a loaded questions. Depends on your office policy on dating co-workers, if this person is interested, if this person is married, if you are married..... I could go on. We need more details. If either one of you are married, respect the vows and shut down your emotions. If not, and it's not a problem at work, let the person know you are interested. If they are too, then make sure the relationship stays OUT of the work day, and only continues after hours. Don't let this affect your job, or you'll regret it. Ask yourself one question... "If this doesn't work out, then what?" Just exactly how attached are you to your job?

Oh, and if this person is your subordinate, don't even THINK about it! You could be opening yourself up to more trouble than you can even think of!

If your workplace policy is not open about it, talk to your HR Manager. Then, if that is OK, treat this person as anybody outside your work. The only issue is - if that person does not reciprocate, you would have to save your face - via change of departments / job location / job type etc. Assuming that is not an issue - all systems go!!
