every time i turn on my media player and select the movie i want to watch my media comes up no problem but when i start to play my player everything in the backround flickers including my wall paper. why is this and how can i fix it

Increasing your refresh rate to above 60 mhz should help the problem specially if it is not a multiple of 60 mhz. That's because at 60 mhz your screen refreshes at the same rate as the power supply of your home which causes the most flickering. If you can, try 75 mhz or 85 mhz.

shot in the dark here. right click on your desktop choose properties then settings then advanced then monitor. Change the refresh rate to a higher value. maybe works, maybe dont.
