You might want to check the law on your town regarding disposing of his belongings. I saw a case on People's Court where the gal gave away all the ex-boyfriend's stuff and she lost the case. It depends on things like - when he left, did you agree to keep his stuff for him - have you contacted him and given him notice to pick it up, etc.

depends. are you holding onto it for sentimental reasons, or is it something you can actually use for yourself, like a t-shirt or dust mop? Keep it as long as you like, just get rid of it if it is noticeably sentimental once you get a new beau.
