Years ago I saw on TV, Steve Allen, Sammy Davis Jr and Jerry Lewis on the Tonight Show and they all did a tap dance, played the piano, sang, did a couple of other instruments and then all played the xylophone. Who learns how to play the xylophone? Amazingly multi-talented people.
These folks did not win the lottery, most of them earned what they got by the same effort that doctors and other successful people use to earn their degree. And they were lucky enough to have some talent. Very few just get lucky, although many are born with talent and willing to do hard work.
Why be so resentful of another persons hard earned success?

The actual artists themselves often get shafted when it comes to the money. Often the money they make from an album has to go to paying back the advance they got from the record label, which covered things like a tour bus, recording time, advertising, CD pressing, merchandise, etc. They really don't have it as good as you think. Also, touring is a hard life. You're never home, always going somewhere. Often you don't get much sleep and don't get to eat right. Now the producers do squander the money, but they're working hard behind the scenes to promote a band or singer that they have invested money in. And they have to do this for several people at one time. Don't be so quick to judge about stuff you obviously know NOTHING about.

No, keep buying CD's and let them be rich, or are you looking for justification for free downloads? Besides Musicians brains work in a way that doctors and lawyers never will so dont compare. And lastly, you make them rich. Doctors and lawyers are funded by giant corrupt companies and half the **** they learn is generic bull$hit designed to do nothing but work for the companys intrest. And this is backed up by the government who is also controlled by big business, so give musicians a break. We got worse problems. As for producers? yeah they suck.

No because first off whos paying them that money? Its us the fans who are buying their music. Second music is something special which holds a different special meaning for everyone. Third if you don't like what there being paid then just don't buy their music but you can't download it because thats stealing, if you don't like it there isn't anything you can do about it so why not just live with it.

i disagree. and agree w/ jimbo because those people work really hard, long hours with sometimes only 2 days off a MONTH!! going days without sleep. Same with acting. They work for months at a time sometimes with a few days off. Anyway... just check out justin timberlakes tour, its crazy! myspace.com/justintimberlake
and i agree w/ geezer too. did you know HMO doctors get paid monthly by our insurance companies just to have us under their hospital and when we go there we are waiting forever, get treated like crap and get diagnosed incorrectly and then die from the laziness. We get treated bad because they get paid either way, whether we see them or not.
