Its energetically unfavorable for long chains of molecules to form. Plus by random cooincidence, its more likely that reactions will involve very simple things rather than hugely complex biomolecules such as DNA or protein. However, the thought is that this did occur, at least once, and and RNA enzyme was formed that catalyzed it's own creation, and was able to self-reproduce. And the rest is history.
