Macs. They're reliable, come with the best software, and are virtually virus free. Take a look at this link. Those articles don't lie. Vista just can't compete with Mac OSX. I had a family full of PCs, got one Mac, and none of us are ever going back. You won't be sorry.

PC. Mac is so proprietary. For instance: If your hard drive fails, you need to buy the special Mac ones, which cost more. Apple made their plug things specific only to Macs. EDIT: And don't bother trying to figure out anything for Linux. If you're asking this question you don't have the technological know-how to wrestle Linux into something convenient, although Linux is by far the best OS out there, seeing as how you make it yourself, to your specifications. ALSO, Mac is a PC, they just don't want you to know that. What they did was make an operating system that could only work on certain hardware and then sell that hardware with that OS. Macs are no different from PC's on the inside, just more expensive.

I use them both.

I like the MAC a ton better than Windows, but I need to be portable so I have a cheap Windows laptop because it cost a fraction of the cost of a similarly powered MAC laptop. I can run the MAC OSX under VMWARE on it if I need to use the MAC stuff while on the road.

I would choose a high-end powerbook if I had the $10,000 to afford it maxed out.

I really like a PC and it's a desk top because I really don't need a computer that's portable. My sons have laptops and take them everywhere with them so they can use E-Mail, show pictures, do work, etc. I'm on my second one from Gateway. I have a dual/duo processor which I really love because you can run programs simultaneously without the computer freezing. I have Windows XP and don't know anything about the new Windows Vista, Windows newest operating system. It's like everything else in life as to which is better--it's your choice.

That depends. Buy Microsoft products if you like spending money on inferior products. Windows has 114,000 viruses that do not infect Mac's. You will pay a bit more for the Mac, but it will be worth it in the long run. Best is kubuntu for free at www.kubuntu.org

Mac are better for video editing and stuff like that. PC is better for gaming and multimedia. Its really just a matter of what you need to do with your computer or laptop.
