I met him over the summer at my job. His wife died and he has a daughter and a girlfriend and they moved here so that he could persue a PHD. I am 20 and he is 39. We got together for lunch a few times. I became emotionally attracted to him mostly because he has a daughter and my maternal instincts are strong. Somehow I let him know that I felt this way and it was fun for a little while but I feel like it's been blown out of proportion. It's awkward for me because I'd like to keep him as a friend and I enjoy babysitting his daughter but I'd like the flirtation, constant text messaging, and physical contact to end. Last night he tried to kiss me and he gives lingering hugs etc. I have a fiance who I'd like to keep faithful to and don't understand how he can do this to his girlfriend especially with his 5 year old daughter in the picture. How do I make all of this end without ending our friendship? I'm starting to get creeped out. I've been hoping it would just kinda fall away...

i think you really need to break all contact with him and his daughter. you could try talking to him about it but it sounds like he's infactuated from what you say and you don't want to be involved in something that's going to mess so many lives up.

good luck with it xxx

You need to distance yourself. It'll be tough, I know, especially leaving his daughter, but it's best for everybody..
