I have just learned to play chess and would be interested to play online. The only problem is that when I went on the yahoo site to play everyone always wants to chat while playing. Is there a site to play that they don't have the chat room with the game??

Just ignore the chatters in yahoo chess. That's what I always do.
If you want to try something different, there is always ICC.........Internet chess club. The competition is much more fierce, but usually less chatty.
One thing that might help is to change your avatar to something that doesn't look female, then you will most likely be left alone.
