I work at the Howard Hughes Center near LAX (Los Angeles International Aiport). My co-workers and I are getting bored of the restaurants in the Howard Hughes Center, and are also spening too much on having lunch there. Does anyone have suggestions of nearby places (driving is ok)? We went to Boston Market and Panera this week, which where good both in terms of price and food quaity. Anything along those lines would be great!

Go to Alejos for Italian. It's on Lincoln just a few blocks north of the bowling alley.
Try Paco's Tacos for Mexican. It's on Sepulveda near La Tijera, about 1/2 mile north of LAX (across the street and about 1/2 block over from Panera.
Thursday at the bowling alley on Lincoln is Albondigas soup day--it's a favorite with locals. Yes, it's in a bowling alley...but they actually serve decent food. I think the food at the alley declined about a year ago when they had a management change, but I bring it up here strictly for the albondigas.

All will cost @ $ 9-11 for lunch--maybe a dollar or two more than Panera, $3-4 more expensive than Boston Market.

Along those lines, you might try Pann's, at La Tijera where Centinela and La Cienega meet. Not sure what the lines are like at lunch. You might also try Grinder's, which has better food than you'd expect for a diner chain, or IHOP, which has lunches now. They are both essentially at Sepulveda and Manchester. You could also grab decent sandwiches at Bristol Farm's supermarket, just north of Manchester at Lincoln.

A really good place in the area is Ayala Thai for thai food. One of the best in town. It is tucked away in the same parking lot as Paco's Tacos. Paco's fronts on Manchester, but Ayala's front door is on a small street behind Paco's. (It isnt the Thai place next to Paco's.)

That's not a very good hotel from a looks standpoint but the area is totally safe. There is crime everywhere, but most of the craziness in los angeles happens well east of Culver City. -- oh i just saw someone mention titos tacos...absolutely go there for some food. there's a line outside for a reason!!
