If you are sure the Laptop has wireless connection, known as Wifi, make sure you have a router that transmits wireless connection. There are plenty of locations that offer free Wifi, such as burger king and some colleges, schools....Others you need a password to connect.

if you have a wireless signal then no you dont need a phone cord but if you dont have a wireless signal then yes you have to be connected to something in order to get onto the web

No. If your computer is receiving a wireless signal and is able to connect to the Internet, a phone line is unnecessary.

nope. once ur wireless...u don't need cords. besides, ur wireless card is faster than connecting it to a modem!
