no sorry, 99.9% of germs and bacteria sounds really good but when you consider just how many germs and bacteria there are on the planet you realize those bleaches ain´t as good as they make out, according to some website where boffins chat about such things it´s stated that 500,000 kinds of bacteria on Earth is probably a lean estimate as 1000 different species can be found in a human colon, 20,000 different species can be found in a litre of seawater, 500 types on any single tree, 10,000 species in a gram of soil from 1 place in america and an exra 5,000 in a gram of soil in another part of the USA.

Bleach is pretty good at killing germs and there is probably no other household product to touch it.Its not surprising really because it is a weak (Hyperchlorous HClO3) acid. The manufacturers have to say 99.9% because otherwise the advertising standards people would be on their backs.

Bleach contains Chlorine which is one of the chemical group of Halogens which are very agressive to bugs.Lots of Hospital products have contained Halogen compounds eg 'Chloros, Milton, and Iodine which is a halogen.
