What I am trying to say is that for some stupid reason Feb 14 we guys are suppsed to put logic asside and spend a fortune on our wives or girl friends. My wife and I don't follow that trend and I have alot of freinds who feel the sme way. But if you look at the ad campaigns out there on a whole its every thing for the woman and very little for the guy. Why do advertisers make woman out to be so self centred and guys so gulable

Valentine's Day is way out of proportion and it is truly because of advertising. Otherwise, wouldn't Christmas, my birthday and "just because" be enough? It is for me. Besides, my bf is so good to me all year round that a little day like the 14th is not something we get excited about. A card and a box of chocolates, please and thank you.

no and no. except of direction you're a materialistic, shallow lady. Then i think confident would the respond to the two questions. For me, neither is mandatory. they do no longer would desire to spend any money whatsoever and that they does no longer get dumped the two way. i've got not got self belief in Valentines. it is in trouble-free terms a fabricated day. Why use valentines with a view to coach love? you'll be exhibiting love 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. no longer in trouble-free terms sooner or later holiday of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. it is incredibly pathetic and unhappy how some human beings anticipate presents on valentines. it is not your birthday (except that's) and it ain't Christmas. So recover from it. i'm married and that i could care much less if i'm getting something. Spending time with my husband is what's considerable to me.

I think your problem is with your chic and not the holiday. I have been with my hubby for 3 years and I have always spend a nice amount on him. I do expect for him to do something for me..but he knows that I prefer the little things..like suprises through out the day or a rose left on my car...these mean more then any "fortune"

Don't know why you are dating these types? Maybe because many guys value looks over brains and personality...
I'm happy with a single flower (picked from garden even) and maybe a nice gesture like making breakfast.
I always get my guys something special too.... this year it's a new snowboarding helmet and a cheesecake. And on the weekend we are having a romantic trip to the snow to board!

I don't expect my bf to spend a fortune on me for Valentine's Day. Last year I got a box of candy and a rose, it's just the fact that he remembered, that was enough for me. I still have the rose, inside the empty candy box.
A lot of women want the gifts just so they can brag to their friends.

Diamonds? Pfft! Most women would rather have something else. Jewelry is not as popular as it used to be, and now there are more women who would rather get gadgets that a man would like (with the IPod winning).
Honestly, I'd rather get a video game!

That's not what happened in 2004.
It was the other way around pretty much.
I got my wife a balloon bouquet, a nice stuffed bear, and some other small gifts.
She gave me a Char-Broil grill with a side burner.
But we were both happy...

All I asked for is him doing the dishes for a month. And I will get that and a card and maybe a flower or a small, inexpensive gift and I will be content.

I got my man some great gifts, including some toys for us to play with. Yep, I get a nice dinner in a great restaurant, steak, of course. I will be dessert.

ummm think you've got it wrong there, I never get anything ever for valentines day, I get "I forgot" "Its a corporate holiday to make you buy things" "you want me to show I care with an object?" which is totally untrue, making me something, maybe anything to show that he cares that I make him pancake hearts, or games or buy extravagant gifts, even sexy outfits, massages, dinner, EVERYTHING only to feel unapreciated.... so dont know what ure talking about, but it always seems to be the damn girls job >< never anything for the girl....
