Good question...where do you go? Full Circle I'd guess. You will have to be like the prodigal son to regain your values of importance. Your journey should be interesting, full of adventure, it will no doubt take you places you've never seen, and allow you the privilege to meet people you'd never dreamed of meeting. However, will you some how get lost along the way? Or are you already lost? I have by no choice of my own been unencumbered from family, possessions I have enough to get by, relationships are there when you want them, but the big number one of it all is where are you? You can not run from yourself, and if you lie to yourself, whoa time to take one giant step back. Don't allow foolish pride to make you into someone you don't really want to be. Sometimes the long trip back to you is the longest one you can make. In the meantime Go to south Texas work out on one of the fishing boats, hard work, warm sunshine, and the spray of salt water may be just the combination for some much needed thought as to what your priorities in life really are. Good luck/.

As one who did in 1977 what you claim you have now done, in 2007, let me ask you two questions that came into my mind after I decided where to go: How are you going to afford to go there, and how are you going to afford the "cost of living" when you do get there? No one wants a "free-loader" living with them. So, as soon as I found my predicament, I found myself in graduate school for the second time, and in another "brand new" career (for me, that is) and today, after working in that "new" career for 20+ years, and making my way in the world socially and economically, I find myself living rather comfortably in a house that I had built, in acreage that I wrote a check to pay for, and driving nice new vehicles that I wrote checks to pay for. Yes, God was a MAJOR help here, but, in the "good ol' " American lexicon, I "pulled myself up by my own bootstraps". You might want to deal with your predicament too. There ain't no magic, only hard work and dedication, if you truly want any "housing options" at all, much less in a peaceful community. God Bless you.

...there is no peaceful communities will exist for you, or existing anyway. you unencumbered yourself from all possessions, families, and relationships....Community IS a family (or they want it to be) and it required you to create relationship with community, and if you do not have any possessions Community will reject you, for it is nature of members of community to be possessive in millions of forms ...Hey, do you have any gut to start without any begging your potential enemy, community? There is no conditions for you, what ever comes be happy...This is a start...otherwise what your rebellion all about? Prove to yourself that you are ...

You apparently haven't unencumbered yourself of a computer. If you want to restart your life, don't dump your family. Dump you useless friends, and get a job. Associate with people who have responsibilities and are working to meet them. Avoid the idle mall rats who have nothing better to do than hang out. Starting over is the state of your mind, not the state your butt is in.

Go help people. Try ASP or some Habitat for Humanity program. Find out who you are and what you believe. Have a good time. Watch sci fi.

Michael Jenkins: great quotes from the bible (aren't you original?). Only problem, old bud, is that Jesus was crucified, what 2000 years ago, so it's a little hard for us to 'follow [him]' - I mean where do we go from here - the original questioners question. You've been a great help and a great inspiration!!

Why on earth would you distance yourself from your family? Were they abusive or on drugs or something?

Work and invest, then buy a house in North Carolina or something. That's all I can say.
