but what am concern is, the more i posted a collection, the slower the program computes of amount it totals. its like the program re computes everytime i add an item..and i want to make it run faster.. what should i do? should increase my RAM or upgrade my processor?

my pc specs are:
AMD Sempron64 3000+
512mb ram
256mb video
250gb Hard disk (IDE connection) /
(does SATA hard disk help increase the computation?)

thanks

Hai,

I dont think so it has got anything to do with the system. if u want u can just clean up your hard disk space. try taking the backup and fromat your hard disk and reinstall everything. it should work little OK. but i think it is the foxpro program which has to be modified to make it fast. i am an excellent foxpro programmer, if u have the source code you can send it to me with some explaination about the program, i will make it super fast and send it back to you. for this progam to run fast i dont think u need to do anything for the system. bcz u have 512 mb ram which is very high 250 gb harddisk is also very high. only thing is you have to change the program

Check for spyware and viruses first. Check task manager and see what % your processor is running at. Upgrading your Memory may help, but only do that after you check for software issues first. If you decide to change the processor (like suggested above) make sure it's the same socket and your Motherboard can handle it (local hardware store can help you with that). If you go with the intel you'll need a new PC.

That computer should NOT be slow. It should be fast. You could try adding memory, but my first thought is you have malware or too many programs running at once. To find out, point your pointer at your taskbar and right click and select task manager. If you have more that 40 processes running it is too many, and get rid of them. If you have over about 42, OR IF your Performance tab shows 100%CPU usage, even at idle then you likely have malware.

Add RAM and make sure that the CPU is running at the rated speed (right click on My Computer, - properties)
Hard discs do not impact computation, that's CPU, RAM and motherboard related

nicely the sempron will constantly run truly sluggish. and that low ram limits you. besides the indisputable fact that seem into backing up your information and doing an entire reinstall. formatting the HDD except you purchase a clean one. that's frequently much less annoying and swifter then cleansing the registry force and software folders, and is likewise plenty extra valuable. a sparkling initiate frequently finally leads to swifter speeds once you pushing to empty each ounce of existence from older desktops

RAM.. your RAM is what gives you the most speed! it's ok to have a fast processor but if you have a small amount of RAM your pc suffers! i had 512mb RAM and it was sooo bad I now have 1.5gb and its excellent
