Sounds to me like you need to grow up a bit and realize that your parents have rules because they want you to be safe. Are you sure it's just the fact that a shirt is sleeveless or is the neckline an issue?

It doesn't sound like your parents are strict so much as very protective.

As a parent I can relate. My children are only allowed to stay with friends whose parents I know really well, like relatives or long-term friends of mine. There are alot of freaks in this world and to be honest 2 of my friends and 1 of my sisters friends were molested by someone at sleep overs.

Additionally, I don't think anyone "needs" a cellphone. They are a luxury and a responsibility. I also know many parents that have taken phones from their teens for late night calls and excessive texting.

As far as sleeveless shirts go, they aren't all that revealing, but so few are classy. Most make young girls either look like they are playing dress up or trashy. Besides, bare pits need to be shaved more. Lol.

You won't be 13 forever. One day you may be a parent yourself and will be able to relate to some of their concerns. Even the really over protective stuff is out of love and not to punish or ruin your life.

The best advice I can give anyone your age is focus on your education. With a good education you have choices and opportunities.

Good luck.

parents all do what they can to protect their children. Even if you think they are too strict, you aren't going to be able to convince them of that. The best thing you can do is to be responsible and trustworthy, don't lie to them, do what they ask, and make sure your friends are good people and then your parents will trust you to make your own choices. Unfortunately for you what they say goes until you are on your own. GL!

Your parents are just doing the best they know to protect you because they love you. Yes, at your age it may seem too strict, but don't think of it that way.
