Valentines day can be stupid.
like for people who feel they shouldnt HAVE to express there love for there boy/girl friend with really expensive gifts or candy. or flowers that smell like s***.
And its embarresing if you get a gift from somebody who you didnt have a gift for them. then that person ends up being pissed at you for a while about how you
"forgot" about them.
So the act of love i think is a great thing but haveing to express it through GIFTS. and not just a connection between you and that person.
Yes. i think Valentines day is Just a Hallmark Holiday.

I'm living in Japan, and here only women give usually chocolate to men. And usually again, they give to not only men they like/love, but also to their bosses, co-workers, etc. It is more of a duty, than a joy. Then the men return the "favor" on March 15, which is a money making holiday created and celebrated only in Japan called "White Day". White Day is solely Japanese, as far as I know.

But being American, I hold to the "give something to your lover" attitude. So, I give my wife something on Valentines day, and just forget about the Japanese White Day. Personally, I like valentines day because it give me another special chance to express my love to my wife and kids.
