Lately I've been looking into airsoft snipers. I've narrowed it down to the VSR-10.

is it durable?

does it really shoot at 400 fps?

how accurate is it? how far would i be able to shoot someone's head? how about chest?

how much of it is metal?

are there any fragile peices?

ABSOLUTLY NO bullshiт answers! bullshiт meaning:

NO saying "run a search", on Y!-answers, OR a search-engine.

NO telling me "to go to a store"

NOR saying anything that WILL NOT contribute to the question. ONLY SAY THINGS THAT WILL HELP ME!

what i would LOVE, praise you for, and bow down to your greatness is:

is links to GOOD reviews,

answers to the details asked above,

YOUR own opinion,

OR comparisons to other snipers.

it can be any one of these, or any combination of any of them.

sorry for being rough on you guys that give the best stuff. but i want a real answer, and not stuff from the people that have nothing useful to say.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

alll right, mainly because i'm getting sick of seeing this question i'm gonna answer as best as i can.

i almost bought a VSR 10a few months ago but opted for the UTG mastershot 700. i researched all the guns and i mainly went with the utg because it was cheaper. they're essentially near similar guns and i've fired and used a vsr (wpring) personally. from my experience i'll answer what i know.

the vsr 10 is rather durable. the stock is pretty strong and other than the stock i *believe* pretty much everything else is metal, much like on the super 9 and my UTG. all the snipers DO shoot at around 400 fps but only with a .12 gram. if you want your gun to be accurate do NOT use .12's you're gonna want .22's .24's or .25's. this'll slow the bullet down ALOT but you have a chance at actually HITTING something. and by alot i mean instead of 400 fps it'll do maybe 350. my utg does almost 430 with a .12 and by rough estimate it's hitting probably 365 with .24's.

the vsr is accurate enough to get chest shots from about one hundred feet. it didn't have quite the range of the sniper i wound up going with (mine will shoot relatively accurately about 200 ft... but that's gonna be a chest shot and it'll hit maybe 7/10 shots) but it'll get the job done in relatively close range situations when you need to hit a small open target when most of him is behind cover.

i don't suggest EVER going for headshots. its' unsportsmen like behavior in airsoft and if theyre using a paintball helmet (i highly recomend that in airsoft... face shots HURT) they'll never feel it. always aim for hands, thighs and shoulderblades because clothign is tightest there and they will FEEL it. (just a bit of friendly advice ;).

i don't have any necessarily good links as far as reviews go. when i was researching snipers i did use google but it doesn't like to give straight answers. you can try shorty usa though.. i'm not certain they cary the VSR 10 and most people hate their reviews but once in a whiel you get a good one.

personally i LOVE the UTG m324/ master shot as a beginner sniper (as in less than 200 dollars). mine cost me 110 bux from hobbytron.com and i've never had a prob lem with it yet.. if you get a sniper though make SURE you get either a scope that comes with it or find one made for it... i still don't have a good scope on mine and there are no ironsights so it's pointless... the only reason i can test thigns is because i actually fabricated a set of sights for my gun and set em up as best i could. the vsr 10 is a VERY good rifle. i never used it extensively but i have to say i do prefer my M324 just because it's extrarodinarily solid, has a nice feel to it, shoots HARD and shoots really very accurately. if you ever get the chance try out multiple guns to see which one you like best. if you can't i say get the m324/ master shot 700 to start with because it tends to be cheaper and if you need something more than that later on move up to maybe the gas powered vsr 10 which is more customiseable (the vsr 10 doesnt shoot like the m324 out of the box but can be modded to shoot far better.... just takes time, money and a lot of work to do it.)

i hope that helps you out a little bit. good luck gun hunting.
