I am utterly disgusted with the decline in general customer service skills in this country. Not only is it rare to get really good customer service at a pricey place...it's rare to get it anywhere. Good customer service is equated with common courtesy....which is also becoming a thing of the past.

Yes, I do expect better service when I'm paying a lot more. And if I don't get it, the manager gets to hear about it. That is the ONLY way to get the rudeness stopped. Make there be consequences. If they can be rude or ignorant, and there are no consequences, why would they ever know it's even wrong?

absolutely, because look I'll be paying high price for something i can get somewhere maybe for a better service or even for a lower price so i expect very good service and a simple "thank you" wouldn't kill

Yes, and I always receive better service, as expected.

When was the last time you got any customer service at Wal-Mart?

'Nuff said.

I think common courtesy is a must anywhere you patronize. If I don't get a thank you after the transaction is completed, I say a very loud you're welcome and go about my business.
