This is for people who think abortion is wrong only. Anyone can answer though. I grew up hearing on the TV abortion was right and it made sense to me. It wasn't until now that I have thought it might be wrong after someone I know had a miscarriage. And also I learned someone I know had an abortion and I felt I missed out on two lives. But other than that, other than believing there is a person who could come to be and they might be good for the society, what other reasons do anti-abortionists believe? Thank you. (btw I put this in the womans health section. i dont know where else to put it.)

People talk a lot about what they believe, but like you, how I feel is the strong thing that won't go away. I aborted my first baby. Partial birth. So beautiful the nurses gasped and the doctor had to harshly insist that they "dispose of it in the usual way" (trash can? research lab?) Coming out of the clinic for the ride home, I and noticed the striking difference between a father and a ... and realized that, aside from my own losses (and the baby's), I had actually "killed" my husband. (Who knows what changes he saw in me?) When finally our son was actually born (our best friend and the best thing that ever happened to us), from the time he could speak he always asked for "a brother or sister to love." And do you know what? He would have been aborted, too, if there hadn't been a big march in Washington at the time. By the fourth day of marches my husband said, "You know, we can't just go on killing babies," and Ray got to live. Our first child we labeled "just a bunch of cells" and discarded. But, like millions of women, my heart is broken forever because I miss the beautiful little golden-haired person who died in a clinic, the one I never got to hold or see and her brother never got to love. Ray was killed in a car wreck. Now I am entering old age with nothing but memories of him, and of the beautiful baby we would have called, "Sarah."

I do not believe that abortion is wrong. However, using it as a form of birth control is wrong!

Anti-abortionists believe that abortion is murder. But, from a scientific point of view, it is not a life unless it can survive outside of the womb.

They push adoption as an alternative to the procedure. In playing devil's advocate: Why would I want to carry a child inside of me for nine months while knowing that I do not want it?

What's really wrong? Everyone is entitled to have their opinion, but it is very disrespectful when a person's approach becomes dogmatic. Abortion is an option that women need, it's just up to the individual as to whether or not they want to take advantage of it. No woman should be made to feel less than human because of a decision they made. No one really knows what the circumstances were that lead to her choice. And truth be told, it's really only the business of that woman and the higher power that she believes in.

The thought of having a tube stuck into my cervix and suctioning out a fetus who has a beating heart and feels pain makes me want to puke. I would never do it. I also wonder whether more women would not want to if they knew more about what goes on in this procedure. I am conflicted though because I do not believe a woman should be forced to give birth against her will and I believe every child should be a wanted child. Abortion is a symptom of deeper societal ills, such as not enough social support for mothers and families. If women facing desperate circumstances knew they would be supported, maybe abortion wouldn't have to be a choice. But as it stands right now only the pregnant woman can make the choice. So although I'm against abortion, I still think it should be legal. No, I'm not trying to be on both sides. I just don't see how making it illegal would solve anything. How about total support and respect for women, children, parents, and families?

because the moment conception happens, there is a living human being growing inside you. I have never in my life ever thought abortion was anything but wrong. I don't care who's body it is, that baby didn't ask to be conceived. If people don't want to get pregnant they shouldn't have sex. I don't even agree with having an abortion for medical reasons, but to each their own opinion. I just believe that God knows what He is doing when He creates that life, and He creates each life for a purpose. How many people are there out in the world who can't have children who would do anything to have just one of the aborted babies?

I think an abortation is a womans personal opinion and choice and if they made it a law it might be too hard to appeal it for certain cases like rape because anyone can claim it was rape

on a more moral side i think it is what a person religiously believes

It the choice! The choice to make your own decision on what to do with your body. People can't tell others what to do with there own body...though...people do it anyway. You should not smoke but, I do because its MY choice, people should not eat fast food but...its there choice, people should have there children in car seats and it is the law in some states....but they don't because its there choice. Whatever the choice is there are consequences, as in live there are consequences....some good though mostly BAD. Though, the people NEED to make that choice on their own and THEY will suffer the consequences...not me, not you THEM. So, I think the people that believe that abortion is wrong I don't agree...BUT THAT"S THEIR CHOICE!

Wouldn't it be strange if that choice was taken away from them.

I think its wrong cause its a living baby inside you....there are other options. There are people in this world who are unable to have a baby and want one...so adoption is one option.
