I have a boy cousin who performed unspeakable acts on another younger girl cousin for several years until she finally told someone. They were both very young (between the ages of 8-11), and now since he's grown up and was kicked out of the house, some of my family members still communicate with him and act as though nothing ever happened. I've found it impossible to accept what he did, and I've basically abandoned him as a family member. Is there something wrong with that? How do people handle situations like this?

I normally don't answer these types of questions, but this one hit home. There is nothing wrong with your "take" on this situation.

What I wonder, is where were the parents? How was this allowed, and was there no supervision? I blame them for leaving these two little ones alone unsupervised.

I would also want to know where this little boy learned these things....was he a victim of abuse himself?

If it were me, I would let everyone know what I thought.

good. That was an awefull, perverted thing. Don't even treat him like a human. Shun him, BUT, if the victem forgives him and he apolagizes, forgive him as well, let him in the family, but be carefull with him around kids.

Did she say it was forced or did she just say it was happening?
Kid have that "what have you got there" curiosity. It's usually because the parents have treated the body as taboo and never explained stuff to them. If a kid is curious, he's not too young to be educated.

Nothing wrong with disowning a sicko like that.
Talk to your family about your feelings about him and what he did

if he's apologized to her, and she's accepted, then i'd treat him just as your girl cousin... otherwise... he's not an okay person...
