I know several people who have died from kidney and liver failure due to exposure to heavy metals.

Yes, there are severe health risks from the exposure to Lead, Mercury and other ores that have not been refined. Lead will kill you after making you very sick for a period of time. Mercury will do the same. Even the dust from mining gold is a risk.

If you're talking about music, there aren't any health risks! I listen to just about every type of metal (plus tons of other genres), and I'm healthy as can be!
But as for heavy metals (as in machinery), you could drop them on somebody and do serious damage. I wouldn't risk that one :)

ha, just kidding. there are several heavy metals than can make you sick, just do a search on yahoo or google. I would guess that Mercury is the most dangerous metal - not sure if it is heavy.

I did some research on Alzheimer's in H.S. becuase my grandpa had it, and it could be a factor in Dementia and Alzheimers, and my grandpa DID work in a sheetmetal factory.

Mercury in fish cause brain damage and birth deffects...don't buy fish from Wal-mart!

alot of them kill brain cells, even to the point of death, such as heavy doses (only available in chemical labs) of mercury.
