i've never memorized a big chapter book before but..
try memorizing it by chapters and memorize only the important facts..and use cliff notes and study guides if you can.

Hopefully you need to memorize a few facts, and not every single word in the chapter.
Summarize in outline form the chapter. Then memorize your summary, in your own words, a little at a time.

You can use sparknotes thats what i did instead of reading the book!
