My hand brake is off, however the brake light goes on and off. Is the switch sticking? If so, where is the switch?

The switch should be at the base of the hand brake shaft. Keep in mind though, that the light will also go on if you are low in fluid (there is a sensor in the reservoir) and as the fluid sloshes around while driving the float indicator will go up and down turning the light on and off. Also the light will go on when the system senses an imbalance in pressure between the front and rear systems. A loss of pressure usually indicates something is leaking. If the brake pedal feels soft or too low then this is likely the problem.

The switch that turn on and off the warning light on the dash is located alongside the handle under the plastic housing. However, that same warning light is used to alert you to a brake light being burnt out as well. You should have someone watch and see if you brake lights on the rear of the car are working correctly. You can also do this by using yor 4-way flashers.

Good luck
