One tends to take on aspects of the people they are around. like a clean dog running with other dogs with fleas, eventually it'll catch the fleas too.
If you want to be successful, hang with those that are successful. If you wanna be a drunk, hang with those who drink. It's part of the human nature to take on the culture they live in (or put themselves in).

They are paramount but most of us don't realize the true importance of this. I like mountains but live in an area that has none, I should move, but lack the zip to do it, I wonder how more creative I would be living in Alberta or British Columbia where they do have beautiful mountains. When I win the lottery, so long I am gone. Ones environment has a big affect on them.

Surroundings could be a number of things. Think about where you live, the climate, the wildlife, nature, and the society around you (maybe even just your neighborhood). How do all of these things affect and persuade your life?

Considering I have a touch of OCD, they DEFINITELY affect my life.....but for your essay, think about how if it's quiet or noisy what affects you....or if you are in a light setting vs a dark setting. Think moods and feelings you get when in different situations. good luck

how you dress, how you act, your personality, your language (accents)..
if you live in china, you'll dress like a chinese person and eat chinese style meals, and speak the chinese language
if you live in korea, you'll dress like a korean person and eat korean style meals, etc.
if you live in texas, you'll most likely have a texan accent.
edit: wait, surroundings as in family and friends or surrounding as part of the world?
