I am trying to get the demographics for the show im starting to write. Its about 6 high school friends(3 guys 3 girls) and their daily lives, school, work, dating, parents, etc...The cast is predominantly ethnic:african americans, hispanics, asians etc.. but it will also have white characters too.

I also want to work martial arts choreography into it.( Think more mature like Buffy not kiddie like Power Rangers)

I am going to keep it from being too ethnic which would turn away some veiwers but it would have a sense of urban life to it.

If you can please tell me if you would or wouldnt be interested in watching the show and add your ethnicity, gender, and age.

Best Answer would be the person who answers my question but also gives adequate details on their stance.

Thank You.

Ok..its not going to be as much as a high school drama as comedy if that makes a difference. More along the lines of That 70s Show, Fresh Prince of Belaire, more teenage comedy than drama but it does deal with more or less everyday issues...

Its like if you read or watch The Boondocks the creator, Aaron McGruder, is interested in martial arts, anime, ect...so he incorprates a fight scene into some of the episodes.

"The Trial of R. Kelly" R Kelly goes on trail for his sex tapes and a riot breaks out outside the courtroom.

"Granddad's Fight" The grandfather wants to fight another person and Huey trains him in martial arts.(Has references to Zatoichi)

"Let's Nab Oprah" in my opinion was great. Huey fought Riley because he was plotting to kidnap Oprah and Huey later has to fight Oprah's bodyguard.

I am a white, female, 17 year old.

I probably wouldn't watch the show because I get enough high school drama at school. I like watching TV shows that let me temporary forget about the real world and just get engrossed in a fictional one, which is why I generally don't like shows about teenagers. But hey, lots of people do like that! :)

I think your show would gear more towards teenagers. From what you are telling me, the martial arts choreography might be a little tricky. With Buffy, there was a reason for her to be using the martial arts and with Power Rangers the same, and to have a middle ground would be a little confusing for me if there was not a reason for them to be doing that.

I think the idea of the urban life is a good thing. We do need more shows with a balanced multiracial ansable. To many shows have too many or one and not enough of the other.

I would watch your show. I think you just have to develop it a little more.
I am a 27 year old, multiracial ((black and asian(my mom), and hispanic(my dad)), female.
Good luck

I might watch it, but it depends on what you mean by "work martial arts choreography into it." If it's going to be something where the kids are little vigilantes, then no. If it will have a good reason to it - like a supernatural angle or something like that, then yes. Because mindless martial arts in a TV show doesn't make much sense.

You sound like a very intelligent person. I for one loved "That 70's Show" Your ideas also sound great with the different ethnicities. Believe it or not I am a 42 caucasion female. Good luck to you and yes I would watch.

It sounds like alot of shows on the Nogin Network. Degrassi, South of Nowhere ect. BUT....the martial arts twist sounds interesting enough to get me to at least try it.
Good luck my friend!!!
