I'm not offended by it, it just makes us look stupid and backwards. As for others saying our country is founded on that phrase read this;
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." [Treaty of Tripoli in 1797.

To not offend anyone why don't we take off the Presidents heads & add more sayings to our money like....For the Buddhists: In Buddha We Trust and For Islam: In Allah We Trust and For the Atheists in No One We Trust and For the Football fans: In LT We Trust and For the Jews: In Yahweh We Trust and ect, ect, ect. Do you think God really cares about the money or it’s just the controlling Christians, who are out to control every facet of everyone’s lives? God forbid if anyone is having fun out there without the Christians throwing a wet blanket on the party.

Wow, you are easily offended. No, it should not be changed. This sounds like a personal problem. Don't forget that YOU are the one choosing to let it offend you. If you don't believe in God, then why would you let the word 'God' have that kind of power over you? Just ignore it and carry on with your life. Surely, you have more important things to gripe about.

The United States was founded on this principle, whether you like it or not. Never mind the fact that most Americans agree with that phrase and would be offended if the government removed it. If you don't like it, why don't you go live somewhere else? These are plenty of places with godless ideolgies that I am sure would welcome you with open arms. Try living there for a while and then think about how "offended" you are by a phrase on a dollar bill.

It should not be edited (even though I am catholic) because almost all religions believe in a god. I also think it should not be edited because I shouldn't offend anyone. I don't really care about people from different religions I treat everyone with the same respect.
My point:
It's just a phrase... If you don't like it. don't read it.

No, this country spends too much time worrying about offending people. There is over 230 years of history that you want to mess with. If you don't like it, don't use the money.

This country was started by people who believed in God. They were the ones who laid the foundations for this country. Thats something sacred. Maybe if the majority of Americans had a problem with it, then its time to change but for now, I think we should atleast leave the "In God We Trust" in respect of their memory. Dont fix anything that aint broken.

I think it should be changed to "In Ben We Trust", god forgive us. It is a bit hypocritical that we print that saying on the root of all evil.

So Sorry non-believer. But it offends me that you want to change something that has been a part of our history since way before you were born. Offends you? Don't read it.
