Maybe somebody has experience with this. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out Thursday, but I really want to attend school on Friday. By the way, they are impacted and haven't started sticking out eyt. Will I be in too much pain/discomfort to do ordinary school activities? Or will I be fine?

I really don't know what to expect.

if you go to school the next day, you'll be sleepy, drugged, and either not have a good time or not care.

Yeah, definitely plan on staying home on the Friday. You won't want to do anything. It will take time to heal. I would expect to be out of commission for several days. So just relax, watch tv, and let everyone else take care of you. I'm sure your teachers will understand.

Edit: Oh yeah, and as Soula mentioned, you will probably look like a chipmunk, because your cheeks will be swollen, so you may not want to go to school looking like that. But don't worry about the pain. The surgery is a peace of cake. They put you under so you don't feel a thing. Waking up right after it's finished is actually the best part, because you don't feel any pain at all. Afterwards you will feel discomfort, but Tylenal 3 will help you with the pain and soreness. They should prescribe painkillers for you to take for that, so not to worry. Just make sure you follow all of the instructions that is given to you.

if they are impacted you are going to be in some pain afterwards and probably won't wanna get outta bed.

make sure you ask for vicodin or percaset

i'm sure they will put you out..so don't worry about it...it will be over..but you will be some discomfort and probably look like a chipmunk :)

i had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed... so at least i can speak from experience.

good luck

I'd plan on staying home. You may be on some pain meds that'll make you wanna sleep. Take the extended weekend & recover.
You'll only be able to eat soft foods for a few days.

I had mine out when I was 18 and went out with my friends that night and had a great time. But some people have it tough. With motrin, you may be fine. Good luck.
