Just like the civil rights movement, feminism (feminist movement), has been taken to the extreme, both were great ideas when they were started, but with all the PC crap going on the whole deal with feminism has been moved to the most extreme levels. It truly started out a equality for women, as far as the workplace, households etc. equality on the frontline of all thats going on between women and men. More money for the work they do, and more shared chores and actions in the household. All the "bra burning" was done by all the freaks and liberals in San Fran, calif. where most of all this trouble starts. It is mainly for the equality of women to recieve the same as men for doing the same work and having the same opportunities to thrive and prosper.

The reason it is called "feminism" is because it is the process of equal rights for women.

It is a Noun word, the process of equaling rights for women. However, let's say you and your wife break up and want to sell the house you bought together. Women should get equal values just like the men in the spilting up proceedure, which they go through feminism to seal the equal share. Feminism also gives females rights to vote for their senators.

It is basically equal rights for women as well as men. The right to go out and make a living rather than stay at home playing "suzie homemaker", in turn that gives a man the right to stay at home and tend to the house if he wants to and if you look around you'll see a number of men doing that nowadays. It is giving the woman the right to decide what goes on with HER body, and I'm not just talking about pregnancy...I'm talking about her right to choose whether or not she WANTS to have sex, whether or not she WANTS to take birth control measures without having a man dicatate these things. It is about giving the woman the right to stand up in court and point to a man who has raped her and the right for her to see him go to jail for said rape. It is about giving a woman the right and the power to leave an abusive relationship without fear of being harmed in the future for doing so. It is about giving women the right to take control of THEIR lives rather than being the property of a man.

Feminism is the fight that women have fought for decades, in the quest to become eqaul to men in the social world.
