Global warming affects the winds, which are a global system.
Warm water makes warm air, as the heat from the water (like with El Nino effect) rises up and heats up the air. Then, the air blows all crazy and messes up the winds around the world.
For example, I live in the southeast US. It was very warm here this winter because the Gulf Stream (ocean current that affects winds) was too warm, which made wind rise up over our part of the country and keep the Arctic air from coming down here like usual.
Therefore, it was too warm here and too cold in the north, as the cold air up there just stuck around and didn't come south like usual.
Also, warm air generally has a lot of moisture in it, and when it hits cold Arctic air, you get a bunch of snow.
The problem with global warming is that it keeps winds from blowing the way they should. Most places are too warm.
But some places are WAAAYYY too cold.
Global warming is bad, because it ruins the balance of the weather all over Earth.
Good question, but you gotta remember weather is complex and cold doesn't equal no global warming.

was she being sarcastic? Global warming is a global thing, there will be variations in temperatures, and the whole thing is "only" a couple degrees we are talking about. the thing it may do, is change weather patterns, so while it may not seem to be warmer in a certain place you will end up with much more moisture in the air when you shouldnt have it, so we get 15 feet of snow in places, and in some other place they never get rain again. Global warming at this stage doesnt mean that the earth is gonna turn into a planet like venus next year, or even mars, but there will be many changes that could be very destructive.

The cooling of the earth is know as, Global Cooling. The glaciers in the north and south of earth melt, due to overall heat, causing the waters to become cold (This also causes many natural disasters). On the other hand, the weather starts to change and at last all you get is a frozen earth. Keep in mind that this is a theory and it is not likely to happen when there is Global Warming, but both can result in the extinction of mind kind.
I hope this helps you with your question.
Dont forget torate my answer.

Global warming means that there is more heat in the weather system than normal. So more ice melts and water evaporates than normal. Wich disrupts the normal wind patterns and causes unpredictable changes in seasonal weather.
Hope this is helpful.

global warming is also shown on how extreme the weather is....stronger hurricanes, heavier snow storms etc....
remember how warm it was 2 weeks ago?? Look how cold it is now, global warming effects how extreme the weather will be.

this might be due to natural cycles in our climate
the jet stream changed is direction in the fall letting the cold artic air to move southward in the past 120 years we have had two cooling cycles and two warming cycles it is possible that we are entering another cooling cycle and has nothing to do with gobal warming

Suuuure it is, along with hurricanes, floods, drought, fire, volcanoes, earthquakes, & anything else that disrupts our lives & environment. A pretty "Convenient" truth to blame it all on global warming, wouldn't you say?

Global warming is, by definition, a myth.
Myth - A person or thing existing only in imagination, or whose actual existence is not verifiable. This word originates from the Sanskrit word "Mithya"; with the same meaning.
And you should enlighten your teacher to this FACT.
