My husband was offered a caretaking position this morning. This job involves staying in this persons home for a month or two while he is away. Everything is paid for meaning electric cable heat the only thing he asks is that we take good care of his cat? What do you charge someone for this? My husband thought maybe $50 bucks a week is that too much too little. To me it's not worth it I have a place to live and for an extra $50 bucks a week I dont know if I want to do it.

Basically your husband is living away for 2 months.

If you have your existing home to keep as well - then certainly $50 is too little - especially as your husband will not be able to work anywhere else.

If you charge too much then your husband won't get the job.

Ask the owner what he was thinking of paying and then go from there. Don't be too greedy as it really is a very easy job.

In my humble opinion, that is a slap in the face to pay him $50....
does your husband have a 9-5 job... is he only going there to babysit the cat???

in my opinion cats don't need that much attention... i have cats and we can go away for a few days at a time.
as long as the cat has food and water, he should only need to "check" on the cat every other day...

let the cat owner board the cat somewhere and see how much they charge..i guarantee you its more than $50 a week... cable or no cable.

sounds like a rip off!

$200-300 per week is prime. This nets 800-1200 per month.
