Do people actually seek self-improvement so that they can feel they are worth something?

yes......a person has to feel like they are worth something in this world...either by losing weight....or getting their hair done....or buying a new wardrobe....it gets pretty lonely in a persons world if they feel they are worth anything to anyone....I also think they need good friends that will boost their self-esteem up.....

I guess people improve themselves because if they remain always the same, it's like they're not learning not even a single important thing during lifetime. besides, people need to improve because nothing is perfect and if somebody seek for perfection, must work on it every day... improving.
