No...Didn't you see the Simpson's second Treehouse of Horrors?

As soon as Lisa wished for world peace and the destruction of all weapons the aliens came in and took over with just a club and a slingshot.

That would be nice, but not actually possible. What would happen in case of a riot? Those night-sticks are considered weapons. So are all the other things they use. Also, there will still be people who manufacture weapons secretly, so what would we do against them? Use the weapons we do not have? Also, allot or things have uses that are abused. These are such as: Knives (cutlery), guns (sport, protection, POLICE), etc. There isn't much we can do about. And if you believe in intelligent extraterrestrials, we may need weapons against them (if humans survive until then).

I have to agree with Sead, people kill people. I know that it seems to be a easy logical deduction. No waepons, no (or less) killing. Sadly, there is a flaw. People kill poeple, not weapons. Even if there was a magical way to wish all the waepons off the Earth, I am not convinced that the murder rate would dimish that much. People would simply use their bare hands.

Not all weapons are used for killings, I know many irresponsible people are in the world and do not properly handle/register their firesarms, but there are people that use their firearms/weapons for recreational purposes only. I am somewhat against game hunting, but I highly enjoy target practice with firearms and bow & arrow. No harm there!

Well that's a noble idea. Sadly man has been at it for far longer than you or I or anyone else can remember. So I guess you can work to make the world a better place around you. Maybe it will happen some time. I certainly hope so. Good question. Simple. Heartfelt, I suspect.

nice in theory, but so is communism and fat-free frozen yogurt. some things just don't work.
I think somebody's bound to break that law, and then where will everyone else be? stuck doing what one idiot with a gun tells them to do. wish it could work, but it couldn't.
