what type of peel are you thinking of using??? a type of acid peel??? If so, use caution as these can sometimes increase the discolouration. Here is another option:

Vitamin C has recently found to be very helpful in lightening. Murad has a fabulous line of products for discolouration. One product: vitamin c infusion home facial kit is especially nice and works really well. I do facials and these products really work and are worth the money. Also, anything with hydroquinine and kojic acid lighten. Hydroquinine can irritate your skin so patch test first. There is a prescription called tri-luma that you can get from a doctor that works well too. It is about $100. for a small tube. Most lightening products work slowly over a period of time because they inhibit the production of melanin so you have to be patient with them. Good luck!
