Myths are narratives about divine or heroic beings, arranged in a coherent system.Myths are often intended to explain the universal and local beginnings ("creation myths" and "founding myths"), natural phenomena, inexplicable cultural conventions or rituals, and anything else for which no simple explanation presents itself.
you can write a myth about "the revenge of the nature", personify natural elements who fight humans about the destruction of environment.

Most hero stories involve someone going on a quest (usually the youngest child, or somebody poor or orphaned or disadvantaged in some way.)
He or she faces a variety of trials (at least three--three is a good number for fairy tales and such) to get to "the prize"--whatever that is.
I'd say, go with a hero myth or a fairy tale. Just make sure each "trial" teaches the protagonist an important lesson, like somebody waiting outside a castle might teach patience. Fighting a monster might mean facing near-impossible odds, or fighting your own nature.
Sounds fun. Read some myths for inspiration--that's why they're there! Think about what you'd like a story to inspire in people, and go to town with it.
Oh, and be sure to set it in some fabulous location, like an enchanted forest, a bottomless well, hills that walk around, a dragon's lair...someplace unusual and fascinating.

Myth also reveals a higher meaning - generally if the story of the butterfly or firefly is the result of a need in mother nature you would do well. If the need is able to parallel a human circumstance, shed some light on some ancient problem or share wisdom your Myth would do even better. I would try just the problem then the creature created helped the eco system - of course there will have to be a sort of all powerful sort of guy or gal to do the magic, some poor soul in need of a miracle to survive. Good luck.

Tell the story of a boy who does not know his father and goes on a quest to find him. The boy undergoes various trials and performs seemingly impossible tasks and finally realizes that the father he sought was in himself.

Think of some curious phenomenon and explain it using varies deities and heros. Like fireflies or dust devils or sunsets or why diamonds are hard or what shooting stars are. It should involve conquering some challenge, like monsters, death, or unrequited love.
