Gibbons versus Ogden Case wherein Ogden filed an action against Gibbons for injunction against the defendant to restrain from navigating his boats in New York for which an exclusive use was granted to Livingstone and Fulton for which he was an assignee. Gibbons answered that he was authorized by an act of Congress. Thus, there was a conflict of the state and the Congress which was ruled by the Supreme Court in favor of the Constitution.
