I think they want to know whether you are a good student, rather than whether you are intelligent.

JHU is very competitive. So, you need to have an unweighted GPA in your core courses that match the GPA of accepted JHU students (check their website), and SAT scores that match their students. If you have those, then you have a fighting chance of getting in. If you don't then you don't have a good chance. Remember that if you are in the range of grades for them there are two other students applying there that have the same grades as you, so you have to make yourself stand out.

Do something to show them that you have real talents. Join one extracurricular club, compete in the State competition for that club and win a gold. That will show them that you are a hard worker who can compete. Also, be sure that you read through their online materials really carefully to see what they say about the students they want. Match yourself up to that standard. Do you think that is too difficult? Well, then maybe you are not ready to go to a school like JHU?

Summary - no grades, no admission. With grades, improve your chances with extracurriculars that show leadership and excellence.

Well some colleges well a lot of them, look for things that you do Like I am looking into veterinarians and right at the moment I am taking an agribusiness coarse at a career school and I milk cows. Well what do you plan on taking? first you should take some classes prior to taking the coarses and that will make it so you have a somewhat better chance and if you are still in high school. they like to see AP coarses on your transcript ap= advanced Placement.
