Rachel, here's a copy/paste from the forecast from the NWS:
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR TONIGHT...WITH 1 TO 3 INCHES
OF SNOW EXPECTED BY MORNING.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...WITH 2 TO 5 INCHES OF TOTAL SNOW EXPECTED...AND UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH
OF ICE POSSIBLE.

depends...is that southeast new york?
If so.....you will have more of an ice problem rather than snow...if you live in central new york....lots of snow 12"+
