Honey if you don't have a man it's not called Valentine's Day.

It's called Singles Awareness Day. ;)

been married now for ten years, it's just not right that every two months we're supposed to be out round the shops buying prezzies for someone. Christmas, valentines, mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and the like ! OK, weddings are a bit special and i do buy the odd bit of bling for the wife on our anniversary, but the rest of the time the only people who get rosie about these "special days" are shops that sell flowers, chocolates and bleeding cards that you put on the mantelpiece for two days and then lump them in the bin, what a waste of four quid. just get back into bed shut your eyes and I'll see you on the 15th, and you'll still have a bit of dosh in your wallet

Valentine is just a good excuse for lazy people to be in love one day a year, wouldn't you rather your man show you his love and devotion on a daily basis instead of one day, I know I certainly preferred it that way, don't get too blue tomorrow night, most of them will probably go home and argue anyhow and forget what the day is supposed to mean to them.

I'm not bothered either way. It's a lot of hype.... all for someone else's benefit (e.g shopkeeper, restauranteur, chocolatier, florist!)

I'm married, we buy each other a card and have a nice meal and hubby surprises me with flowers on another day.... quite happy!!!

It would be nice to be spoilt with massive Valentines overload though... chocs, roses, meal out though!

I'm a huge romantic but I don't like Valentine's Day because I believe that people don't need a day to say they love someone or to even shower them with gifts. They don't need a day to kiss each or to have sex or a day to propose to their love. It truly is the day that people capitalize off of people's emotions and gain a whole lot of money because people choose to do this. It's so cliche!

Any day I get presents is a GREAT day whether or not it's a well known holiday! But I'm with you on the public "smooching"...yuck.

I hate it. Good thing we're in the middle of a snow and ice storm and I don't have to work tomorrow. One year I almost got sick from the smell of all the flowers. It reminded me of a funeral home.

Thumbs up for Cassie! You're right about SAD.

I like it when you can drink a whole bottle of champagne and have a box of chocolates ... even by yourself!
You are such an old f@rt, try to enjoy it and get drunk afterwards!
