mint mark is on front under eisenhower's neck and above the 1976. S indicates san francisco mint, D indicates Denver mint, no mint mark indicates Philidelphia mint.

evidently your coin was made in philidelphia. MM's easy to see.

value of coin-- between $1 -$6. most likely lower end of the scale, unless it in great condition.

2 types of philidelphia coins made that year, variety 1 and 2. the lettering on the reverse determines variety. type 1 much more rare than type 2. still, variety 1 in near mint cond=$6.00.

You're talking about a USA Eisenhower Dollar One Dollar Coin. It's commemorative of the Bicentenary with dates 1776-1976 and has an Eisenhower Portrait. This Coin isn't worth very much =/, sorry to tell you. You're only looking about 2 to 5 dollars. You can find them at any coin shop. Cool coin though to keep. I would hang on to it. It's not to often you find one.

From the day the Philadelphia Mint began operation in 1793 until 1980, coins minted at Philadelphia bore no mint mark, with the exceptions of the Susan B. Anthony dollar and the "wartime" Jefferson nickel(1942-45). In 1980, the "P" mint mark was added to all U.S. coinage except the cent.

Your Ike dollar is a Philadelphia Mint product.
