If its small spots i would recommend cutting the carpet. Sounds crazy but it works for small spots and you cant even tell the carpet was cut. As for larger spots, you migh want to try warm-hot soapy warter and start scrubbing or put soapy water on the stain then a damp cloth over the stain and use an iron and iron the spot with the rag over the stain. 9 times out of 10 the stain will transfer to the cloth.

well if it has already dried I think you are outta luck. acrylic is liquid "plastic" until it dries, when it becomes just "plastic". and I imagine it got into the fibers of the carpet where you can't pick or peel it off. If you have remnants of the carpet it would be easy to cut out a patch and replace it with a fresh patch. If you are careful, you can't tell it's a patch job.

take a clean rag. dampen it with the hottest water possible.

lay the wet rag on the paint spots and let sit

this should soften the paint enough to enable you to pick it off.

if not, repeat with wet hot rag.
