I always have weird dreams. But the last weird one that I had, really scared me. I usually have the dream where I think I'm awake and someone or something is on me, and I can't move or talk or anything, I yell and nothing...I have to wake myself up. Well, a few weeks ago I was here at home by myself and I had a dream, that really felt real. I dreamt that someone or something had pulled me up to the ceiling by my hair and night gown and wouldn't let me go. When they did, I fell to the bed. That's when I woke up and the back of my head was hurting where they would've been pulling my hair.

Greetings from the realm of dusk. Before I give you the meaning of your dream, l want you to know that your experience of having vivid or as you say, weird dream is the result of your mind being very active and of you being an emotional person. These factors contribute to your subconscious mind's state of "continuous searching" for answers regarding daily events that occurs before you in your work or school. This is the meaning of your dream: The occurrence of a dream sequence where the person is being held down or hanged - like in your dream - or being immobilized is a reflection that you are dissatisfied with the current predicament or preoccupation that you have in your life. It is a sign that you are not being recognized or given the full credits for something that you have done. It could also mean that you have plenty of ideas or plans or even proposals that you believe is truly good but unfortunately, you just can't let it out or were ignored. The part where you fell from being held up by the head (hair) reinforces the previous meaning of ideas (coming from your head) and the your fall signifies your frustration. The pain you felt after waking up is a phenomenon called somatization - actual perception by the body of a factoid or unrealistic event.

You may have experienced a sleeping condition called: Sleep Paralysis. I've had that before. Can't move, speak etc. It occurs when I am physically exhausted, and forgot to eat right that day. What ever you may be dreaming of "seem" real. I just close my eyes and go back to sleep.

"They", the ones who pulled you up ??
The Hair/Back of your head pain could mean a number of physical ailment possibilities. Check up with your DR.

wow - sounds pretty intense!
I don't want to scare you any more than you already are but could there be a spirit or something in your home???
Or is there something in particular that is really bothering you??
I've had dreams like that....they feel so real it's hard to know if it really was a dream. Does anyone sleep in the same room as you? Maybe have a friend over a couple different times and share the room at night, see if they notice anything. I really wish I could offer you more....hope someone else can.

that's kind of spooky, but I too have felt physical manifestations of dreams. and dreams are merely random cognitive events that usually last for less than one second (all though it doesn't seem like it). however, frequent nightmares are occasionally a product of mental illness. but it doesn't sound like that's an issue with you as a person suffering from a mental illness would probably never ask such a question. There is a medication called Respiridone that is classified in formularies as an anti-psychotic, but it also is used to reduce or eliminate nightmares. It's action actually promotes dreams that are pleasant...and it really works. I'm living proof of that.

now im not a professional or anything but my guess is that your trying to escape something or get rid of something, but it wont leave. the fact that your head hurt after was prolly just your brain thinking the dream was real and sending you pain. sometimes brains get confused. :-P it could be stress and the pain is sent by the prain trying to relieve it?? try getting more sleep and getting everything that you need to get done, done. :-D hope this helps you out
