I recently had to reinstall my version of Windows XP home addition. Everything seems to be working well now, except for the fact that I have no sound. My modem beeps when advisor messages pop up on my computer when a windows alert sound would normally play. I know my speakrs are working properly, and when I go to device manager it shows a Multimedia Audio Control, though it shows up with a yellow question mark. When I click on the controller it tells me The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). It is an onboard sound card, and acorrding to Belarc advisor my mother board model is a ECS M863 1.0 What do I need to do in order to have sound again...

you can go to windows update, and they will scan for updates and missing drivers.if this doesnt work you need to find the make and model of the audio controller, and go to that website and download the driver,and\or software.
