I think the word swear is just half of the famous yet not commonly used term, (swear) jar. It literally means whenever you polute the airwaves with conformed and otherwise indiscreet phrases or words (more commonly termed as "swear words") you get punished by parents, gaurdians etc by forcibly being made to consent to handing a large sum of your weekly pocket money allowance. The sum of money handed over by us to these temporary law enforcers is usually determined by how bad and how often we swear as (by the way of explanation) we all have choice therefore negating the need for excuses. eg. swearing pays. See ya georgous.

You must be talking about foul language, obscene speech, dirty words, ripe language, four letter words, (like work), swearing, blasphemy, turning the air blue, bad language, also there are expressions such as 'excuse my French', or 'excuse my Anglo Saxon', therefore Anglo Saxon and French are also used to describe the use of four letter words, oh and there's xxxx.

I'm permanently brain dead. An oath perhaps, when you swear or take oath on the bible, for instance. Or make a promise to your love on valentines day.
